    g's MetaFishing Tables

    Posted: 28 Oct 2020 01:16 PM PDT

Current as of: October 28, 2020

    Resources:

    ACTIVE

    SILVER RELICS EXP
    PRIMARY Middle Margoria\1]) Margoria/Ross\3]) Banto/Zenato Sea\4])
    SECONDARY Hotspots\2]) N/A Margoria/Ross\3])

\1]) Middle Margoria harpooning is likely more profitable over time compared to hotspot fishing. For this to be the case, however, you will need: at least 700 fishing mastery (1,200 recommended), a fishing boat or Epheria Cog, and to be in Middle Margoria. The fish attempting to be caught here is the Requiem Shark, which is a 75,000,000 silver non-trade manager item that never degrades in price.

\2]) The hotspot meta has not changed from the PEA Sea rotation (Peyon, Epheria, & Ahrmo Seas). The distance bonus, consistent yellow-fish yield, and paired with the Artisan 2 trade buff for Valencia will net a hefty amount of silver.

[3] The fastest bite times in the game, paired with a decent "treasure table" (Laila Pedals, Silver Keys, Relics, etc.) chance and the presence of prize catches (which can also be Relics) make anywhere in Margoria or Ross the best available option for relic farming - even though the higher presence of green fish suppresses the amount of raw silver and fishing EXP gained in comparison to other methods listed.

\4]) Banto/Zenato Sea both have an exceptionally high-yield of blue fish in comparison to everywhere else in the game. This is the balance for having no yellow fish (aside from Coelacanths) in the table. Do not fish on islands: only off of boats. The further you are from islands (more depth between your boat and the seafloor), the more blue fish you are likely to catch.

    PASSIVE (AFK)

    SILVER RELICS EXP
    PRIMARY ArchMap Island\1]) Margoria/Ross\3]) Banto/Zenato Sea\5])
    SECONDARY Oquilla's Eye\2]) Tooth Fairy Cabin\4]) Margoria/Ross\3])

\1]) ArchMap Island, as the namesake implies, is where fishers who have the Archaeologist's Map are known to traditionally fish. Despite not being able to benefit from the Artisan 2 trade buff or being a safe zone: these fishers are able instantaneously teleport to Port Ratt for a distance bonus of approximately 13X% and teleport back to their island - resulting in significant downtime that they could otherwise be fishing - all while benefiting from the fastest bite times in the game.

\2]) Oquilla's Eye is ArchMap Island for those without the ability to teleport to and from Port Ratt. It is a safe zone, complete with a Wharf that allows players to repair their fishing rods; however, there is no Trade Manager or Marketplace NPC - meaning any fish must be brought somewhere else and any relics must either be placed through a Transaction Fairy or respective NPC.

\3]) Margoria/Ross is the AFK meta for relics at a whopping 10.00% base chance to hit the Treasure Group, so long as your fishing mastery is 800 or higher, Additionally, mastery increases your chances for prize relics. Having the fastest bite times in the game leads to more chances to hit either the prize relics or traditional Treasure Group relics table; more mastery means a better chance at hitting the former table. For Fishing EXP explanation, see points \3]) and \4]) under "ACTIVE" | EDIT: The Treasure Group base chance in the Great Ocean (Magoria/Ross) is 10.00% - 2.5% more than Tooth Fairy Cabin

\4]) Tooth Fairy Cabin, despite mastery's introduction knocking it from the top tier, remains a solid alternative for people who wish to remain on land. Were mastery not in the game, Tooth Fairy Cabin would remain in the primary slot; however, Due mostly to the lower bite times, yet also having a full 2.5% less chance for relics by the numbers: it cannot compete against the current meta for those willing to go into Margoria/Ross. It is exceptionally important to note here that it is specifically the fishing table with the Spotted Barbel and Mandarin Fish that is the spot to fish here NOT the Pacu and Swiri table. | EDIT: The Treasure Group base chance in Kamasylvia is 7.5% - 2.5% less than Margoria/Ross

\5]) For Fishing EXP explanation, see point \4]) under "ACTIVE"

    FAQs

"What fishing level should I be?"

    • At least Master 1 for Hotspots
      • You can see almost all Hotspots (more than 90%) in the game at this point.
    • At least Artisan 1 for AFK
      • You can automatically discard blue-grade fish at this level, which will significantly help those who have a small (less than 100 slot) inventory; though you can begin AFK fishing at any point - regardless of fishing level.

"What fishing rod do I use?"

    • Active
      • Triple Float Rod
      • Epheria +10
        • Balenos +10 is a sufficient substitute
    • Passive (AFK)
      • Balenos +10

"How many slots are you considering 'meta' to be?"

    • Over 150 slots, but preferentially at 192 slots (maximum)

    "What are 'prize relics'?"

    • There are two ways of obtaining relics when fishing:
      • Hitting the "Treasure Group", which in include other items such as Laila's Petals and Silver Keys; or
      • Hitting the "Prize Group". which consists of either the table's prize fish or a relic

    "Why not [LOCATION]?"

    • Generally speaking, this typically comes down to one or more of the following qualities:
      • Lack of Prize Group fish
        • A lack of Prize Group fish in a table is currently indicative that there are no prize relics. If a table lacks a prize fish chance, there is generally a low yield of relics as well.
        • Being that the common goal of most fishers is to get as much silver or relics out of their time spent fishing as possible, fishing into tables without prize fish is agreed to be less efficient than a table that does.
      • High bite times
        • This happens either because of the nature of the game (freshwater tables typically have higher bite times than sea/ocean tables), the Resource level of the table (which is shared throughout the entire server for that table, and your Fishing Level not being at 5 (viewable from [P] --> Battle Stats).
        • While you can keep yourself at Fishing Level +5 consistently, you - as an individual player - have no control over who fishes where and what the base fishing times, regardless of Fishing or Resource level, are.
      • Base Fish Price
        • All fish have different a different base price from one another. Some are tens of thousands of silver higher than others there same grade.
        • Base fish price also seems to influence how often certain Prize Group Fish are able to be caught.

    Specific locations of question

    • Tooth Fairy Cabin (Pacu/Swiri table)
    • Lake Flondor
      • An interesting case where the Prize Group Fish(es) exist; however, in a very bizarre turn of events: there is no Treasure Group table in Lake Flondor.
      • This means a lower yield of relics overall in comparison to other Kamasylvia tables with both a Treasure and Prize Group.
    • Drieghan/Duvencrune
      • Lack of Prize Group Fish in the entire region
    • Starry Midnight Port
      • Base Fish Price (Fishing Rod)
        • Though O'dyllita offers another 12 hours of expiration time, this comes at the cost of lower base prices for all the fish in the region except for the Giant Oarfish (10,000,000) and Green Sturgeon (137,000).
        • The other yellow fish, Red-breasted Wrasse has a base price of 89,000 silver - a full 26,000 less than Margoria/Ross' least yellow grade fish: Nibbler (115,000); resulting in an overall lower yield of silver.
        • Starry Midnight Port may, however, prove more fruitful for players that will be AFK for extremely long periods of time (more than 18 - 24 hours); though, most players may find their characters no longer fishing due to durability loss.
    • Ghost Whale Spot (NW Margoria)
      • Base Fish Price
        • As aforementioned, higher base-price for prize fish seem to indicate a higher difficulty/lower chance in catching one. Because the Ghost Whale has a base price of 100,000,000 silver and Requiem Shark has a base price of 75,000,000 silver: more fishers seem to report their chances at catching the latter as higher than the former.
      • Additionally, the Ghost Whale shares it's Prize Group Fish table with another, much lower silver fish: Black Spotted Dolphin; while tradeable, the Black Spotted Dolphin is worth only 10,000,000 silver and may cause a lower chance of catching a Ghost Whale during RNG table rolls.
      • In Middle Margoria, the Requiem Shark does not share it's Prize Group fish table with any other prize catch - which may be why fishers report higher catch rates.
    • Heidel
      • High bite times
        • Generally speaking, freshwater tables have higher bite times than sea/ocean tables. Paired with the fact that many players use Heidel as a hub (due to it's central location in the game world) sometimes results in lower Resource levels than other areas.
      • Base Fish price
        • Leather Carp (yellow-grade fish) at 81,600 silver.
        • Golden Albacore (8,000,000) and Pirarucu (15,000,000) reportedly having lower catch rates than their Margoria/Ross counterparts
    • Velia Beach
      • High bite times
        • The starting zone noob trap stays strong nearly 5 years running. Despite being a sea table, the amount of players there causes the area to stay at a Resource level of exhausted near constantly - resulting in much, much higher bite times.
      • Base Fish price
        • Nibbler (yellow-grade fish) at 115,000 silver is the highest in the table outside of the prize group.
        • Blue Bat Star (2,000,000) and Corvina (1,000,000) are the lowest prize fish by silver amount in the game. While this is typically indicative that they are more often to be caught: they are still rare fish to ever be caught, made even more infrequent by the aforementioned higher bite times.

"Why can't I just fish where I want?"

    • You can.
    • These tables are not meant to discourage players from fishing wherever they desire: it is meant as a tracker and quick reference guide for fishers who just want to know what's the best for whatever their goal is.

    Epilogue

Results will be dependent on each individual player's mastery, personal RNG/luck, gear, and available inventory slots. Players generally report lower yields of fish after this patch, or more relics than their friend fishing here or there; however, the general consensus I've witnessed the community make so far are in-line with the aforementioned tables.

If your results vary drastically from what is posted here, please provide multiple samples of your testing (including how you tested, what your stats are, what server you are playing on, and what version of the game you are running) in the thread below.

Feel free to ask any questions and I will try to answer them in as much detail as possible, but above all else:

    Fish where you want.

    Test the waters yourself.

    Enjoy your time.

Nothing in this game is as important as your time on this planet. Do not put an emphasis on this game whereby it supersedes real-world goals or responsibilities. Decide what's important in your life (your relationships with others, health and well-being, legacy, etc.) and prioritize those important aspects for the short span of time you are permitted to be here before the inevitable comes to collect your mounting debt of mortality.

    This is just a suggestion.

Shai gets the short end of the stick once again.

    Posted: 28 Oct 2020 05:36 PM PDT

As most of you guys might have noticed, last update dropped the new addons system which was supposed to give everyone more variety and different possibilities when it comes to skill addons.

As good as the system might be or feel like to some classes, Shai is once again left out and not accounted for. Let me explain why that is.First of all, we shais ONLY get to choose 3 spells with addons (vs the 6 that other classes have), that's a given, let's say shai has no awakening and doesn't have much spells to have those addons on in the first place (actually could but y'know). THEN, with the update they introduced the T1/2/3 skill addon system for everyclass BUT Shai who doesn't get to have a single T3 spell...

So how did it impact shai exactly ? Shai's PVE lost 3% attack speed (very big when you consider that most of the DPS comes from the attack speed), 10AP vs monsters (once again very big PVE wise), a few percent of accuracy (shai has no base accuracy buffs), we lost 10% crit chance (when our spells have a very low crit rate), AND we lost DP from our addons. Overall, from people's calculation that's a 5-15% nerf in terms of trash loots.

Shai's PVP got nerfed as well in the sense that everyone got -X% evasion debuff addons,, we lost 1% evasion (4% vs the old 5% evasion) on our addons, we lost 10DP (15DP vs 25DP before) on our addons. That's pretty big overall, you might want to say that losing 1% evasion and 10 DP is no biggie, but actually when others are capable of debuffing you way harder than they used to be able to AND you cannot be as tanky as you used to be that makes a big difference.

Now I would ask on the behalf of all the shai players, to give shais a T3 skills, or at least let us have some fun, we were not the best PVE class by far, we were also not the best PVP class (that's debatable). Please PA it's time to actually wake up and help shais, everyone's getting buffed and we are being power crept like crazy... I know we are a meme but we are humans are we shouldn't be forced to reroll Wizzard/witches to have fun in this game. Have a look at Shai once again, let us have a bit of the buffs everyone keeps getting.

WARNING, MAJOR FLAW IN NAVAL KARMA

    Posted: 28 Oct 2020 06:01 AM PDT

Avoid attacking boats at all costs while flagged on land. Hit a boat once with your main/awak weapons and you immediately lose 50k Naval karma. Considering everyone starts at 0, you are immediately locked out of all wharf managers (besides Kuit), and completely locked out of bartering until you grind that back up. Good luck doing that if you don't already have a boat. You can only grind Naval karma back by killing sea monsters at an incredibly slow rate. Nice job PA.

ANOTHER MAJOR OVERSIGHT: Attacking land players with a boat only lowers land karma. If someone with positive Naval karma attacks your Khan with a boat and you axe their ship, you will lose Naval karma and become locked out of ocean content for defending yourself.
