    Some important information over the next two days are as follows:

    ​

    • Do not delete the previously installed Black Desert client. Steam users do not need to uninstall.

    • You can continue to use the previous client by downloading the update patch even after the Game Data Transfer.

    • Official announcement (early opening/delays) will be via @ NewsBlackDesert on Twitter or via GM announcements on the Discord server. Links to both are at bottom of this post.

    Itching to play a new MMO and BDO seems interesting. So far I've created a character on a server that seems to have boosted XP. I'm literally just auto pathing from quest to quest not really knowing what I'm doing besides killing mobs and bosses. I guess I'm leveling up but I don't understand how to allocate points. Can y'all point me in the right direction on what I should be doing. So many things are popping up on the screen lmao

    I decided to abandon my main account that I played since 2017 with 600GS and start a brand new account.

    So as I stated in the title, I decided to start again from scratch. Why? Because I want to test how much "p2w" is BDO in the current state. Today is my 7th day since I started the new account.

    Firstly, I asked my friend to give me a guest pass. My total play time for the past 7 days is 2days and 14 hours where most of it I afk cause I need to complete my work/final exam so that I can graduate on time.

    So far, I managed to get:

    a premium outfit for free from the wishful pouch gift from rookie login (ngl, this is based on rng so im kinda lucky on this part).

    5 t1 pets (3 from quest, 1 kuku bird, 1 I managed to buy the latest valentine bunny from CM).

    2 transactions maid from event/season reward.

    60+ item slot (cant rmb) which is enough as there are less junk item to fill inventory.

    600 weight, which I can manage fairly easily by overstacking my horse.

    My character is currently lv58 (I should be able to hit 61 in the first 2 days but I slowed my pace due to exam week and uni work).

    As I started with guest pass, my account has a 14days VP and 5 character slot. But so far, I only create 1 character since I dont have enough time to grind for enhance mats for my season char yet.

    So far, I think the new players are blessed with a lot of freebies and it's very good and PA did a good job to improve QoL for new players without them needing to spend a lot of money like when I started playing the game in 2017. Season character is also very nice catch up mechanism for new players.

    The only restricting aspect is the campsite which im not gonna lie is a huge improvement in qol and allow you to grind more freely in any location. Without the camp, I need to decide which grind spot that has a repair npc nearby.

    What do you people think about the current state of new player experience?

    I finally have to admit that I do not understand the combat system at all. I mostly just mash the keyboard and hope stuff dies.

    It seems like there are 3 kinds regular, awakening, and succession, but I don't know what that is supposed to mean. Do I have to pick one? Can I change between them? Is one better?

    What about the specific attacks? I press K and get instantly confused at what I'm looking at. I don't know which ones to use or what is even going on.

    If it matters, right now I am playing the Hashashin.

    I feel dumb as hell, and I used to raid WoW as heals and tank back when classic was just called WoW.... but I just can't figure this out.

    Remastered vs Very High views

    To start with the example:

    Am i the only one who thinks very high actually looks better in these cases? On remastered the atmospheric lighting is toned down so much that the LOD becomes blindingly obvious. On some places you can even see where the terrain mesh completely stops. EDIT: Not to mention the cloud layer is either not present at all or so high that it's barely visible against the sky, whereas in very high it drops down a lot to give more depth to mountaneous areas. EDIT2: Added more images, especially the last one looks so much better on very high, mostly due to the near clouds.

    On the second set it also seems odd that Grana is not visible at all. You used to be able to see the tree from this distance, but not anymore.

    I've had this more times recently. Did they make downgrades somewhere along the line in the last few months?

    EDIT2: I wish the settings were more granular...

    Selling my T9 for AP

    Hi, I'm currently at 269 Nouver and got around 200m in the bank. However, I got a Doom at 18 fs. I believe I'll get 7b when I sell my horse and that's enough to hit 261-263 Kutum or around 275 Nouver. I plan to do PVE but I am not really sure whether it's worth to sell my horse or not. I hope someone could explain or help me decide on what to do next. I might be able to buy a TET ring and a TET Kutum/Nouver.

    Man... I really hope someone could help me go with the most efficient way for me.
