Oh no, they got me too.

I'm in love with the game but sadly I have a legitimate issue, I had a small seizure because of this "pulsing blood" effect, when the HP drops to ~40% the game adds a pulsing blood to the sides of the screen. All I ask is an option to turn it off. I'm already in medical treatment.

Lets talk about the flashing critical health vignette.

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 07:25 AM PDT

i have been playing bdo for well over 2000 hours, and i only recently found out through a post someone else made.

you know the red flashing vignette that happens when you get low health? there is no option to disable that.

now it didn't bother me as much as i barely get to low health enough times to notice it, but i think it would be very important for someone with a medical issue (like for example epilepsy).

furthermore, i think everyone would be glad if the vignette could be disabled, since its quite headache inducing when grinding, and distracting when pvping.

before you say that you CAN disable it through the quality menu, no the vignette doesnt get disabled. i tried every single setting possible, and i even tried to relog to check if it worked. it didn't.

TL;DR: BDO should add in a function to disable the flashing red vignette at critical health, because it renders some of the players to not being able to play the game.

This is the Sh$%iest boss in the entire game I have been running this boss since release and back then you could get 4-5 kills per weekend if you were lucky and didnt lag out. HOW have I and so many other ppl still not had 1 drop IDK what my kill count is but I'm sure it's around 400 at this point.

    Armor

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 06:30 PM PDT

I've been using the armor sets that I get through the Main story enhancing everything to +5 (so I don't risk losing durability) and I've reached a point now where I can't even get through a single mob without dying I always have to run away. And I'm not totally sure what I'm looking at either when comparing weapons.

So can someone explain to me how gear stats work? And if I need to buy or doing other quest for gear. I'm level 52

How do you invoke complicated skills?

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 05:37 PM PDT

Hi all just started today, loving it so far. I've noticed some commands require a down arrow and RMB, if my left hand is on WASD to walk around, am I supposed to move my hand over or do people just rebind skills? How do you deal with tricky hand positions?

Farming Crops for Noobs (noo bs method)

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 08:11 PM PDT

Farming Crops for Noobs (noo bs method)

Beginner to Advanced in one easy step. ... prune (or remove pest)

Follow the quest chains till you get the farming quests and your first fence, the shabby, or scrubby (i've deleted mine recently)

Do your one crop (carrots, or something else till you can get carrots) till you have enough CP (contribution points) to buy a small fence.

MORE CARROTS: If you can't find or buy carrot seed then you can make the journey to Calpheon where the seed vendor sells all of them; look around the area with the Storage Keeper)

UPGRADE CARROTS: Use the research option instead of the harvest option to take a chance on getting better carrots. At this point you should have enough carrots to feed your horse whenever. With the High-Quality and Special Carrots you can feed them less often.

MORE FENCES: As you get more CP (from doing all the quests) you can buy more fences. Don't bother spending all your CP on fences. You might want a Horse Farm for example. No big deal, it is just farming. It is long-game, not immediate rewards.

PRUNING: Till you are very advanced (Artisan 1), the whole point of farming, besides carrots for horses, is to raise your farming skill so you can farm BETTER. You want to NOT use workers for farms as they do the pruning for you, thus denying you the farming exp you would get from pruning. It is like getting exp from farming but not having to re-plant and buy more seeds, research, etc.

FARMING TO PRUNE: There are certain crops that do poorly in wet areas so require more PEST REMOVAL, and there are crops that do badly in dry areas, requiring more PRUNING. You can try to maximize this to get the most pruning/pest-removal from your crops before they are harvested/researched. You can find details of crops on bdo database and see which ones need more or less water.

FARMING TO FARM: Just doing it is the best way, imo. Put your farm in a location that suits you, somewhere close to your main base, like just S.E. of Heidel, for example.

    (my farm:)

RESEARCH or HARVEST: I am growing Pepper because I have many seeds saved up from doing the research for so long. You can just buy seeds. It isn't good to do the research unless you are looking to get some special FRUITS for alchemy. And even so you can just buy it. But you can sure do the research if you don't need to harvest the crop for any reason, like cooking.

(I had an odd obsession with researching to store up 10x or more of every seed, rather than purchasing them. I found that it isn't worth the time because I could have been pruning/removing-pests. I used the workers instead to speed up growth and research faster. The result was my farming did not improve as much so my research efforts weren't as good as they will be later on.)

BASIC CROPS: Certain crops are good to grow for your general use. 'Grain' for beer. Anything starchy, even potato, will do, even sweet potato. 'Fruit' like grapes or strawberries, for fishing potions. The strawberries are better because they use only one farm space so you get more pests. You get the idea. Maybe you don't want to invest in a node for vegetables like pumpkin or olive. You can grow them.

MORE FENCES: As you get more CP rent more fences and do more pruning/pesting. At some point you will know you have enough because you will run out of energy. Maybe some processing time or rest in a bed will be good. Eventually you might get 10 fences, the maximum. I'm using 6 smalls because I've heavily invested in node harvesting for reagents, such as traces and powders. I also try to do horse training and have purchased too many horses off the market, so needed to invest CP in horse farms. Whatever your style you don't have to put all your CP into farming, and probably shouldn't. It just isn't that big of a deal. But it is good to have anyway.

SCARECROW & RAIN-BARREL: This is for ppl who don't want to manage their farm regularly. The birds aren't a problem unless you neglect the farm. The water will run out eventually if you don't keep it up by pouring PURIFIED water on it. If you don't want the hassle of farming but still want the results, then these items are good to have. However, you will need the 10 slot fence. The small fence is more economical if you are ok with only having max 40 crops going at a time. That's a lot of pruning.

    so, to wrap it up

    :TLDR:

    1. just go with it. buy a small fence whenever you have some spare CP to throw around.
    2. use only 1 slot crops, like strawberries or carrots, to maximize pruning
    3. no workers, just prune.
    4. add water if in humid area, no water if dry area. fertilizer optional.
    5. PRUNE PRUNE PRUNE

(best to have a dedicated farmer just standing around waiting to prune, or remove pests, whichever works best for you; my area seems to get more pests, and i use water and fertilizer)

My farm layout: (can water and fertilize all at once when standing in the middle; i like to have a separation as each fence takes water from a little area around it)

    https://preview.redd.it/5vlzbq1d5nl51.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=903f49cef713fc285e5d7941e01ed7432f8654db

That's about it... 6 small fences, no big deal. Just prune and harvest, or research. I've got spare seeds from my researching days so plan on stocking up the warehouse with crops, till i get down to 10x of each seed. I could sell seeds on the market, but... why bother. You can just buy them from Calpheon vendor. Just a hop, skip, and jump from Heidel. You can also buy seeds from Loggia farm.

I use the Silver farming clothing for the EXP boost. There is no +1 to farming speed. It just comes with advancement in farming skill.

    PSA Buying Kakao Cash

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 05:49 PM PDT

I'm not sure if this is breaking any forum rules here, I'm genuinely trying to forewarn people and not cause drama.

TL;DR Make sure you use a payment method that is registered under your name and that is the same name on your account.

I just experienced something both frustrating and avoidable.

Personally, I don't own a credit card and I don't like using my debt card online incase someone gets ahold of the information. My family on the other hand does have credit cards. So I used one with permission, we live in the same house. We have the same last name.

Apparently that flagged my account through paymentwall as a possible fraudulent attempt. I've spent the past four days trading emails with their customer service trying to resolve this issue. Unfortunately it could not be resolved. The reason is, their only policy for verification is that you send pictures of your government ID. Which I am not willing to share for many reasons. I'm sure other people have shared this information and that's fine. It's not for me.

So my account will forever be blocked from making purchase attempts. They will not allow me to use any other payment attempt. So I can't even use a card registered under my own name or any other method.

It just feels like a really bad experience and if anyone else has an issue sharing personal information like that. This message is for you.

    Thanks for reading.

How p2w is this game if at all? I’m new, read below for the whole question

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 06:29 PM PDT

I'm trying to get into a mmorpg for the first time and I want to try out this game because I like depth, freedom, and skill based combat and this game seems about right but I've heard it's pay to win, can I still play the entirety of the game and it's features but have the ability to buy currency or do I have to pay to unlock features I couldn't play without paying? Also any general tips are greatly appreciated
