Things I wish I knew when I started playing BDO. Posted: 05 Dec 2019 01:21 PM PST I originally made this post years ago, but I revamped it to accommodate updates/changes and player advice. Hire workers and invest in nodes early. Immediately fill your Character slots on your account. You don't need to level them up. Each character shares your "maximum" Energy Pool, but spent energy is per-character. You'll need your other characters for their energy. You should use your time sleeping to AFK fish for extra monies $_$ (I personally recommend Ross Sea) If you run the game in windowed or windowed borderless, you'll have an option to "Minimize to system tray" when exiting the game, thus letting you AFK leveling professions overnight and while at work without utilizing your computer's resources heavily. Your mount has its own inventory that you can put shit in. A good horse. You want Drift and Instant Accel at the bare minimum to be remotely "fast." Ideally, you want a T8 horse because it has a 2nd Accel. The faster mount in the game as of today (2019) is the Tier 9 Doom Horse. It has 3 Accels. It also costs anywhere between 8-12 Billion when bought from market. Your characters are a "Family" that share almost everything together. Hence why the game mentions "family" more often than "account". They share storage & storage contents. They share Contribution Points, workers, etc. There's also something called "family fame" which is an accumulation of all your character's levels, professions, contribution, and knowledge. The higher your "Family Fame" value becomes, the more daily payout the game gives you. You can find out more on your character sheet "P" Each City/Town has their own separate storage. You can't withdraw or deposit items to/from a city that you're not physically located in. (There's a transport feature you can use, but the item transfer from one city to another takes like 45 minutes) Aside from the Tome of Chenga + Dreighan & Star's End zone quests, Questing doesn't give alot of combat exp. Quests give you Contribution Point exp, which is arguably more important. If you want combat exp, you gotta grind mobs en mass. Unless you're Artisan 2 Trading and have unlocked the Desert Trade Buff, sell all of your Blue & Yellow grade fish to an Imperial Fish Trade Manager. There's one in Port Epheria, Glish, and Velia. You'll get 250% profits from those fish regardless of distance. You can sell your green grade fish to regular traders. Raise Amity with certain NPCs to unlock more quests and knowledge. And sometimes other goodies like "Extra Bargaining Chances" with trade NPCs. Olivia +100% exp servers are only available to use for your first 30 days. (And for returners who have been away from the game for 30+ days) Additionally. You can't access Olivia servers using a character above lvl 58.8%. If your horse is drowning, swim to shore and left click the horse icon on the top left to whistle/call your horse. Don't sit there watching it drown like an ape. Gearscore is your DP + AP (Or Awakened AP, but not both) added together. Example if you have 100 AP 150 AAP and 100 DP, your Gearscore is 250. There are no set roles like Healer or Tank. Although Witches and Wizards have a healing ability on cooldown, this isn't your traditional MMORPG. At level 49, you'll unlock a black spirit quest that will let you progress to 50, and enabling world PvP. So anyone can kill you at anytime, except in towns. If your horse dies, you can revive it from a stable. You can play a minigame called "Black Spirit Adventure" from the "Esc" menu > Black Spirit Adventure. You can roll a dice 3 times a day, every hour.. and gain free loots. It resets at midnight. Higher levels in professions like fishing and gathering gives you a chance to not take durability loss on your rod/gathering tool upon catching a fish or gathering something. The higher the level, the higher the chances. For Gathering, higher levels reduce energy consumption chance per gathering attempt. Post Manos update, I believe the chance to not consume energy caps out at 30% chance per gathering attempt. The higher your fishing profession is, the more fishing hotspots you'll be able to see. (The spots in the water where a swarm of seagulls are gathered) The safety upgrade limit on all armors is +5, and for weapons and offhands is +7. Afterwards, upon failing it will reduce durability on the item that can't be repaired through normal means. Items labeled with Roman Numerals I, II, III, IV,V indicate upgrades past +15. Any upgrades beyond this point will double/triple the value of the item. The only exceptions to this rule are Accessories, which all upgrade starting from PRI. Pri or I indicates +16, DUO or II is +17 and so on.. up to PEN which is the highest at +20. You can only upgrade accessories by sacrificing another of the same accessory into it. (Example: If you wanna upgrade a PRI: Bares Earring to DUO, you need to combine it with a regular Bares Earring. If it fails, both earrings are gone for good) This resource contains a world map with spawn locations for world bosses, nodes, fishing hotspots, etc. You also have a horse breeding calculator. Use it wisely :) http://www.somethinglovely.net/bdo/ When trading items to a trade merchant (Like fish, coins, or trade crates/packs) distance, node connection, and Trading level affect profits. The longer the distance traveled the higher the profits. First and foremost, connect the nodes between the locations. (You can do this through the map. Make sure there's an "orange connection/line" between the cities to indicate that a node connection is in effect). Without a node connection between the two locations, you'll only net 30% profits as opposed to 100%. When bargaining with Trade Managers, you get an increased profit of .5% per Trade Level. The only exception to this rule is Imperial Traders. Imperial traders will always give you a 250% rate regardless of distance, level, etc. There is no level cap in the game, but the higher you go, the worse the grind becomes. It gets to inhuman levels of grinding. Thankfully Combat level doesn't always mean you're stronger. This is a Gear dependant game. At level 56, you'll unlock a special quest that will let you "awaken." This will allow you to switch between awakened state, and un-awakened states. It'll give you new abilities and make you much stronger. Fishing rods can't be repaired unless using a "Named Rod" like Epheria Rod, Belenos Rod, Mediah Rod, etc. If you get Gold Bars through some event reward, etc. You can turn them into silver by using the "currency exchange" feature from any Storage NPC. There's a 35% Market Tax for every item sold. If you have an active Value Pack on your account, you get 30% of the sum after taxes re-added back into the total. To be exact, when you sell an item on market with an active value pack, you make 84.5% of that item's worth in silver. (ie: Sell something priced at 280,000 x .845 = You get 236,600 in silvers from the sale, in your pocket.) Selling items through market gives you a set price you can sell/buy for. That way players don't abuse the market. You can only sell an item for an amount between minimum of X, to maximum price of X. The prices for items go up or down depending on supply & demand. Apply common sense from here... You can hide your UI to take beautiful screenshots using "Ctrl + U" and PrtScn button to take the shot. Luck increases item drop rate for armors/weapons or rare drops when killing enemies. Investing energy into a node also increases drop rates for mobs in that general area. That's why if you know you'll be grinding in a specific area for a long time, invest CP to activate the node, and then pour in some energy into it. If you have an active value pack on your account, you can dye your armor/clothes, costumes, horse armor, trade wagon, etc for free. Go to Esc > Dye > select "Mavs Palette" dye selection. Profession levels goes in this order starting from lowest: Beginner 1-10, Apprentice 1-10, Skilled 1-10, Professional 1-10, Artisan 1-10, Master 1-30 followed by Guru which caps out at Guru 50. Creepy Old Man: "The Desert is a dangerous place, here, take this." Item obtained: LOTS OF GODDAMN purified water, and star anise tea Don't approach the "Great Desert of Valencia" without the appropriate consumables. Don't try to cross the great Ocean on a raft. You'll get 1 shot, die, respawn on an unknown island, and have to swim your ass to the mainland. There's a large NPC ship that travels between Port Epheria and Port Ratt across the Sea. It cycles every 45 minutes. Otherwise use an Epheria Sailboat/Frigate or Guild Ships if your guild has them. Talking in Server Chat uses up 1 Energy per message. World Bosses don't spawn on Olvia channels. submitted by /u/Virtues_Light [link] [comments] |

Also to add, these have brand new item IDs so stocking up on them prior to this update won't do anything so don't save the current ones. Here's the full breakdown: Zones | Name | Before | After | % Increase | Desert Naga Temple | Desert Naga Webfoot | 1,000 | 1,750 | 75% | Taphtar Plain | Centaurus Mane | 2,160 | 3,240 | 50% | Bashims Base | Bashim Mane | 1,100 | 1,925 | 75% | Basilisk Den | Basilisk Scale | 2,000 | 3,000 | 50% | Cadry Ruins | Cadry's Tokens | 1,200 | 2,100 | 75% | Gahaz Bandit's Lair | Gahaz Seal | 1,600 | 2,800 | 75% | Roud Sulfur Works | Sulfur Fragment | 2,000 | 3,000 | 50% | Titium Valley | Desert Fogan Helm Shard | 1,040 | 1,820 | 75% | Pila Ku Jail | Warder's Token Piece | 2,400 | 3,600 | 50% | Crescent Shrine | Token of Crescent | 1,080 | 1,890 | 75% | Waragon Nest | Stone Waragon Hide | 1,800 | 3,150 | 75% | Polly's Forest | Mushroom Hypha | 1,700 | 1,955 | 15% | Tooth Fairy Forest | Hoof of Forest Ronaros | 3,600 | 4,320 | 20% | Manshaum Forest | Narc Magic Mark | 8,000 | 8,800 | 10% | Loopy Tree Forest | Fadus Armor Fragment | 1,200 | 2,100 | 75% | Blood Wolf Settlement | Blood Wolf Mane | 1,430 | 2,120 | 48.3% | Sherekhan Necropolis | Medal of Bravery(Night) | 50,000 | 65,000 | 30% | Sherekhan Necropolis | Bravery Token(Day) | 2,650 | 3,975 | 50% | Tshira Ruins | Swamp Leaves | 1,160 | 2,030 | 75% | Night time for Shrekihan is time gated and that's gonna take a bit more time to get unless someone did it before, but these are all the new numbers. submitted by /u/DmikeBNS [link] [comments] |

4K Remastered Possible? Posted: 05 Dec 2019 04:05 PM PST Hi, i recently got a 4K monitor and have been testing it out with BDO, ive been running from low settings all the way up to remastered settings, turning effects on and off etc etc, when running it on Lowest settings @ 4K my FPS can go up to the 280's and usally sits around the 250 mark when doing combat and so on, (this is with textures on high aswell) my FPS on remastered sits at 50-60 FPS @ 4K, even in combat at pollys or at trolls, but the only problem is i have major stutters/spikes in my FPS, im keeping an eye on my FPS counter and its not going down noticabaly, maybe drops 5-10 frames down to 50 - 55 or so but it seems very laggy to be just a 5 frame drop, on my 2K monitor i can run remastered absolutley fine at like 110+ FPS at most times. CPU: AMD RYZEN 7 3700X at 4.2GHZ - stable clock w/ stable heat & voltage - stock cooler GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1080TI - OC'd to max stable potential Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 Gaming X RAM: HyperFury X at 3000mhz with XMP profile 1.0 PSU: Corsair 650M watt 80plus gold Running Black desert online on a samsung 860 EVO 512GB SSD Ive tested multiple OC's with my CPU and GPU by overclocking to its maximum potential but there only seems a very slight increase in performance, ive gone through the ultimate ryzen guide for BDO and sadly nothing really helps, ive come to a conclusion wherever to run BDO on 4k at a smooth framerate on 4K, i may need a new CPU or a new GPU. Thanks :D submitted by /u/saturn098 [link] [comments] |

Sailboat/Frigate question Posted: 05 Dec 2019 02:06 PM PST Hi, so apologies for the noobish question ive been looking for a straight yes or no answer but cant seem to find any at all. So my friends and i have been playing for roughly 2ish weeks and we really wanna get a frigate specifically. This obviously costs an absolute ton of materials, so what id like to know is can they directly help me build it by giving me the materials to put in my storage or is building these ships a 1 man job? submitted by /u/Rapture07 [link] [comments] |

My Reaction to Ranger Succession Posted: 05 Dec 2019 10:38 AM PST - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOPd_HcZkbY became relevant, again
- Why does my awakening weapon heavily affect succession damage? Have you even tried Descending Current with and w/o it? -- insane. I want to sell my awakening so I can finally complete my PEN dream with the silver left!
- Ultimate: Blasting Gust is actually good!?! Tf.
- I am now sniping people with Sharp Feather/Charging Wind/Penetrating Wind... Wait, Charging Wind (not shotgun) does damage?! Am I really going to invest 3 point in that one flow skill that will allow me to walk with it charged?
- I am now clearing packs with Descending Current... What?
- Regeneration and Natures Tremble does less damage than Descending Current or Shotgun singularly. lol
- What does my W+Right Click do now? Wow.
